Secret Santa, made simple
Free Secret Santa Generator: Draw Names Online
Add your group, set a budget, and draw names in one place. Everyone gets a private page that shows who they’re buying for, that person’s wishlist, and gift ideas within budget. It works for Hanukkah, Halloween, and every other gift-giving holiday too.
- Free to use
- No passwords
- Private matches
How It Works
Three steps, from guest list to gift list.
-
Set it up
Name your exchange, pick a date and a budget, and add everyone’s name. No account needed to start. You create a free one when you send the invites.
-
Invite with one link
Each person gets a personal link by email, so nobody has to remember a password. Or share one group link in your chat and let people add themselves.
-
Draw names
When everyone’s in, draw. Each person gets a private page with their match, their match’s wishlist, and gift ideas within your budget.
Why Run Your Gift Exchange on SooMuch
The small details that keep a Secret Santa fair, private, and easy for everyone.
-
Nobody gets left out
Everyone gives one gift and gets one. If someone joins late or drops out after the draw, only the matches that need to change are updated.
-
Exclusions for couples
Keep partners, roommates, or anyone else from drawing each other. If your rules can’t work, we tell you before anyone is notified.
-
Gift ideas within budget
Set a spending limit, and each person sees gift picks at or under it, right next to their match’s wishlist.
-
Wishlists from any store
Add a wish by name or paste a link from any online shop. Your Secret Santa sees it on their page.
-
Ask your giftee, anonymously
Not sure about a size or a favorite color? Send your giftee a question without giving yourself away.
-
Room for kids
Everyone joins with an email, except kids. Add a child with just a name, and a parent in the exchange handles their page and gets their emails. That’s the organizer, unless you pick another adult.
-
Two reminders, at most
We send no more than two reminder emails: one a week before the exchange and one the day before. Anyone can turn emails off.
-
Private by design
The organizer can’t see who drew whom, and our emails never name anyone’s match.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the SooMuch Secret Santa generator really free?
Yes. Setting up an exchange, inviting people, and drawing names are all free. Some gift ideas link to stores that may pay SooMuch a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you.
Do participants need an account?
No. Each person gets a personal link by email that opens their page, with no password to remember. Only the organizer creates a free SooMuch account, and only when it’s time to send the invites.
How do exclusions work?
While you set up the exchange, pick two people who shouldn’t draw each other, like a couple or roommates. Add as many pairs as you need. If your rules make a fair draw impossible, we tell you why before anyone is notified.
What if someone drops out after the draw?
Remove them from your organizer page. Usually only the person who was buying for them gets a new match, and never more than two people. Everyone else keeps theirs. If your exclusions make that impossible, you can redraw instead. Latecomers can be added after the draw the same way.
Can kids join without an email address?
Yes. Kids are the one exception: everyone else joins with an email. Add a child with just their name, and a parent in the exchange handles their page. That’s you, the organizer, unless you pick another adult in the group. Their parent fills in their wishlist, helps them shop for their match, and gets their emails.
How does the budget work?
The budget is optional. Set a spending limit when you create the exchange, and everyone sees it on their page. The gift ideas we suggest stay at or under that amount.
Can the organizer see who drew whom?
No. The draw stays private, even from the organizer. You see your own match, plus the match of any child without email, since you can open their pages. Our emails never name anyone’s match.
Can I run a Secret Santa for my office?
Yes. It works for coworkers as well as friends and family. Post one group link in your team chat, and people add their own name and email before the draw. Set a budget so every gift lands in the same range.
Can we use it for Hanukkah or Halloween?
Yes. Pick the occasion when you set up the exchange: Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Eid, Lunar New Year, Valentine’s Day, Easter, or any other gift-giving holiday. Your pages and emails follow it, so a Halloween exchange has a Secret Ghost instead of a Secret Santa.
